Notes from the Winemaker:
Our Price Family Estates Pinot Noir is a blend of our Estate Vineyards throughout the Sonoma Coast. The core of the wine comes from our Walala Vineyard, a 17-acre site set in the middle of 19,000 acres of redwoods in the furthest northwestern town of Sonoma County. The other key vineyards that make up this wine are Gap's Crown, Durell, and Alana. Each site brings unique characteristics and depth to this bold Pinot Noir. In this bottling, we love the fresh lavender and pine with a core of cinnamon and cherry that demands you keep going back for more. We adore this special Pinot Noir that serves as a tribute to the magnificent vineyards within Price Family Estates.

Ratings & Reviews

97 Points & Platinum: Best in Show: Best in Show - 2019 DECANTER World Wine Awards:

"Even in potentially cool zones like the foggy Sonoma Coast, there's always a breadth and a grandeur to California's finest Pinot Noirs. What our judges liked so much about this example was the fact that its fundamental scale was no impediment to a sense of finesse and refinement in the fruit. You'll find almost perfumed, violet-and-rose scents behind the fresh plum, while on the palate this is a concentrated and vivacious wine with resonant black-fruit acidity, light tannins, delicious underlying sweetness and mouth-watering purity and freshness. Drink 2019-2025"

94 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Luxurious flavors of blueberry, kirsch and dark cherry glide across the palate, with an enveloping creamy texture. Dark chocolate, spice and mocha details show on the fresh, juicy finish. Drink now through 2025. 865 cases made." — KM (Web Only - 2019)

93 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Price Family Estates is medium ruby colored and features allspice and nutmeg touches with concentrated cranberry sauce, red cherry preserves, baked blackberries, cola and woodsmoke. Light to medium-bodied with tons of spicy fruit layers in the mouth, it has a supporting frame of grainy tannins and lip-smacking acidity with a long-lingering finish. 865 cases produced." - Erin Brooks (30th Apr 2019)

93 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous:
"The 2017 Pinot Noir Price Family Estates is a pretty rich, big wine in this range. Ample in body and expansive, the 2017 packs a real punch. Dark red cherry fruit, dried flowers, herbs and crushed rocks, along with the wine's potent tannins convey an impression of brooding power. I would give the 2017 a few years in bottle to come into its own. The 2017 is built around a core of fruit from the Walala Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast, with touches from Gap’s Crown, Durell, and One Sky." - Antonio Galloni (May 2019)
