100 Points & #100 Top 100 Wines of 2019 - James Suckling:
"The benchmark Pingus? Everything is together here with an impeccable balance of ripe fruit, complex terrior character and perfect tannins. So perfumed with flowers and crushed stones. It’s full-bodied yet melts into the wine. The length is superb and goes on for minutes. Dense center palate. It just floats across the palate. It is a perfect wine that you just fall in love with it. Lasts for minutes. A joy to drink now, but will age for decades ahead."

94 Points - James Suckling:
"Very dense and tannic, but there's also plenty of fruit with mulberries on the nose. Is this pushing the envelope one step too far? Although the wine has powerful tannins, somehow it balances out and tastes fresh – an amazing feat. Better from 2018.” (January 18, 2018)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2013 vintage):
"The 2013 Animo, which is 81.6% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot, is even better. This wine shows a more opaque purple color, a sweet nose of blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with licorice, lead pencil shavings and some subtle new oak in the background. It is full-bodied, pure, rich and impressive. A powerful wine, it will be better with 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for 15+ years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (30th Dec 2015)

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The entry level 2015 Pétalos del Bierzo, their regional wine, in the new official category that will start working in the appellation from the 2017 vintage, a blend of many different vineyards planted with field blends, where the breakdown might come to some 5% white varieties (Valenciana/Doña Blanca, Godello and Palomino/Jerez) and around 1% other reds (Pan y Carne, Negrada and Gran Negro), all from vines ranging between 40 and 90 years of age on slopes (half of the grapes around the village of Corullón and the remainder in the rest of Bierzo). It's a showy, approachable, aromatic and open version of Pétalos, and as I tasted it later on in the season, it felt more polished and round, with a lush texture. It's extremely aromatic, in a way similar to the 2012. This is always one of the best values not only of Bierzo but for the whole of Spain. 310,000 bottles and 2,000 magnums produced." - Luis Gutiérrez (31st Aug 2017)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Black Slate is a project from US importer Eric Solomon who works with different producers across Priorat to create a range of wines that show the character of the different Priorat villages at affordable prices. Each wine belongs to the winery that produce it and they are all village wines that carry the name of the village. I had the chance to taste from two bottles, one that was just opened and one that had been opened the day before and the differences were awesome. I'm talking about the 2014 Black Slate La Morera, which despite being called black is really white (!) and is produced in conjunction with Jordi Vidal of La Conrería de Scala Dei. The bottle that was opened and poured had a nice floral aroma and some waxy notes that were fresh and primary. But the one that had been opened for a day was darker in color and the nose was much more interesting with waxy aromas of dry apricots, and started to show some wild herbs, fennel and tarragon and the texture had also changed to be more focused while gaining in volume. I thoroughly advise that if you like funkier whites with more character you should decant a bottle one day in advance! This is mostly Garnacha Blanca with some 7% Pedro Ximenez at higher altitude as the village of La Morera is around 700 meters high and the soils are not only slate, but they also have some chalk (the influence form Montsant) that provide for a different kind of minerality, more sapid/salty. Great white from Priorat at amazing price. 8,000 bottles." -- Luis Gutierrez (Jun 2015)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2015 Vintage):
"The custom cuvée for American importer Eric Solomon, the 2015 Black Slate La Morera is a blend of Garnacha Blanca with 5% Pedro Ximenez from the village of La Morera de Monstsant. The irony here is that the young vines used for this wine are planted on limestone soils rather than in the usual slate from Priorat. It was fermented in stainless steel and kept in contact with the lees for four months. All of the wines from the Black Slate project are now Vi de Villa, the official village category from the Priorat appellation. There is a mixture of white fruit, flowers and Mediterranean herbs that is quite captivating. The Garnacha Blanca dominates, but the Pedro Ximenez might provide a more austere, mineral hint, and perhaps a faint touch of petrol. The palate combines volume and fine minerality. 4,000 bottles were produced and filled in February 2016." - Luis Gutiérrez (28th Oct 2016)
