Thanks for choosing to spend the next few minutes with this special homicidally hoppy ale. Savor the moment as the raging hop character engages the imperial qualities of the Malt foundation in mortal combat on the battlefield of your palate!

This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you're on.

About This Beer:
S.N.A.F.U is a double IPA, AKA DIPA, heavy hopped and high in alcohol. To pack in as much hop character as possible, we hopped it in the mash ton, first wort, bittering addition, flavor addition, whirlpool (aroma), and dry hops in fermenter. With the 6 combined hop additions and 5 distinctive varieties of hops, this double IPA is a hop head masterpiece at over 100+ I.B.U’s. Malt profile was kept relatively simple to keep the hop character predominate yet not overwhelming. Every hop used was a US variety with exception of German Mandarina Bavaria which is an aromatic hop with strong notes of tangerine and citrus that was recently released in 2012 and is a pedigree of the famous Cascade hop. All in all, this is a double IPA that truly backs up its name: Situation Normal: All F**Ked Up.

In the San Francisco spirit of innovation, Villager blends classic Northwest hops with contemporary ale yeast to establish a delicately constructed IPA. Notes from the Brewery:
The impact is big and bold for German hops, with lots of tropical fruit flavors and a fairly high alpha-acid content. Growers notes describe this variety as having moderate to strong floral and fruit character, featuring notes of pineapple, gooseberry and white grape, lemongrass, passion fruit and grapefruit. We found that description to be pretty spot-on. Reminiscent of many recent Southern Hemisphere varieties, notably Nelson Sauvin, but with a cleaner, less “dank” profile. The beer finishes nice and dry, with a lingering hint of sweet tropical fruit.
