2008 WORLD BEER CUP BRONZE MEDAL

Dark-ruby, almost black-colored and streaked with fine top-fermenting yeast, this beer has a compact and persistent head. This is a very intense wheat doppelbock with a complex spicy chocolate-like aroma with a hint of banana and raisins. On the palate, you experience a soft touch and on the tongue it is very rich and complex, though fresh with a hint of caramel. It finishes in a rich soft and lightly bitter impression.

The limited special wheat beer edition is a tribute to the former head of the brewery, Mathilde Schneider who presented Bavaria’s first wheat doppelbock in 1907.

The specialty wheat beer brewery from Kelheim continues the tradition in the pioneering spirit of Mathilde Schneider and uses a new variety of hops which was grown in small quantities for this special edition 2015. The result is a sparkling summer wheat beer, spicy and nutty, with a refresh

This is the original Paulaner, the founding beer of Paulaner. The Salvator Double Bock is a bottom-fermented beer and has been brewed in almost exactly the same way since the end of the 18th century. It combines the most delicate of hops and dark barley malt to give a strong, characteristically malty taste and an inviting, gleaming copper color.

Bock beers are represented by a male goat, which in German lore symbolizes strength and virility. In accordance with the Reinheitsgebot (German Purity Law of 1516), bock beers must have a pre-fermentation malt sugar concentration of 16%, which converts over to at least 7% alcohol after fermentation. These strong beers were made popular in the early 1600's by monks in order to minimize their hunger during fasting periods. While most bocks are dark, Blonde Bock is golden-colored and malty with a rich, creamy head. The rich flavor is counterbalanced with just the right level of bitterness from the Hallertau aroma hops and create a very smooth profile.

The world-classic Kulmbacher Reichelbräu Eisbock is back! The world’s first and most authentic ice beer was given the highest rating by Michael Jackson, then mysteriously disappeared, but it’s in stock now, a heavyweight beauty. Not at all like those silly “ice” beers that big American breweries are pushing, this one is actually made the original way – by freezing and then removing the ice to intensify the alcohol and the flavor.

The story goes that a wooden barrel of bockbier was inadvertently left in the old Reichelbrau brewery yard in the middle of winter. By the time it was found, the contents were mostly frozen, and the keg had broken open. The ice was chipped away, leaving behind a much richer, more concentrated, but exceptionally clean tasting brew with a deceptive 9.2% alcohol by volume. Reichelbrau has since become, simply, Kulmbacher, but the beer is still made the old-fashioned way. The original is still the best.

A beer that has a dominant malty taste. This beer’s origins in a monk’s recipe are reflected in its heartiness. The Pope of Beers, Conrad Seidl, describes it as: “Almost black with a very slight red tone, a sensational, festive foam and truly extraordinary fragrance that at first summons up visions of greaves lard. The first taste is of mild fullness with an accompanying coffee tone, which becomes more dominant with the aftertaste. There is very little of the sweetness that is frequently to be tasted with doppelbock beer.” The Ayinger Celebrator has been ranked among the best beers of the world by the Chicago Testing Institute several times and has won numerous platinum medallions.

The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.
