Billecart-Salmon Vintage Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne 2006 (Champagne, France) - [WE 94] [JS 93] [WS 92]
Billecart-Salmon Vintage Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne 2006 (Champagne, France) - [WE 94] [JS 93] [WS 92]
Retail Price: $90.00

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Billecart-Salmon's style is dry, so an Extra Brut will be almost bone-dry. This wine is crisp and tight, bringing out grapefruit and citrus flavors and a steely, mineral character. It is still young, with freshness dominant, and needs to mature to blossom into a very fine Champagne. Drink from 2018." - Roger Voss (12/1/2015)

92 Points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2016 Vintage):

"The 2016 Chardonnay from Dance is very good, wafting from the glass with youthful aromas of citrus zest, lemon curd and pastry cream. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with an attractively textural attack, racy acids and a long, saline, even stony finish. It's an impressive Chardonnay that should develop nicely for the better part of a decade. Note that part of Dance's 2016 vintage was given extended sur lie élevage, and I'll be reporting on that exciting new cuvée shortly." - William Kelley (29th Jun 2018)

94 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"More cassis, cedary spice, and dried flower notes emerge from the 2015 Red Wine Chester Kidder. It's medium to full-bodied, beautifully complex, and layered, with more upfront charm and approachability than most 2015s. Nevertheless, it's going to evolve gracefully on its balance and harmony. Made from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Syrah, and 15% Petit Verdot that spent a full 30 months in oak, hats off to winemaker Gilles Nicault for another terrific vintage for this wine." - Jeb Dunnuck (4/11/2019)

2006 - Ratings & Reviews
98 Points & Editor's Choice- Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"This is the latest release of this legendary wine. A blend, although with a majority of Pinot Noir (Churchill's preference), the wine is rich, just beginning to show wonderful signs of maturity. It still has intense fruit along with the taut mineral texture that will allow the wine to age further. It is a standout Champagne from this vintage. Drink now, although this Champagne will age for many years. " - Roger Voss (Aug 2018)
95 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine

2008 - Ratings & Reviews

100 Points & #4 of Top Cellar Selections of 2018- Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"One of the great Champagnes both for its richness and its longevity, this latest incarnation is superb. The wine's richness is linked to the ripe fruit and the dominance of Pinot Noir in the blend. It also shines in the perfect balance between the texture, the minerality and the integration of the fruit. It can be enjoyed now, but it will be better from 2020 and then for many years to come." - RV (Dec 2018)

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Macán Clásico, pure Tempranillo from their 92 hectares of vineyards in Ábalos, Labastida, El Villar and San Vicente de la Sonsierra, fermented after a cold soak, followed by malolactic partly in barriques and an élevage of 12 to 14 months in new and second use French oak barrels. It's still quite young and undeveloped, with good consistency, juicy, integrated and balanced. The Macán wines seem to be coming of age. It was bottled in May 2016. 68,468 bottles, 1,042 magnums and some larger formats were produced." - Luis Gutiérrez (28th Feb 2018)

"Very strong and pure aromas of blackcurrants with violets and lightly herbal notes, leading to a palate that has dark-mineral allure. This delivers attractive, ripe dark berries with a very long, focused and assertive, neatly cut finish. Elegance with power. Drink or hold." (11/2018)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five Stags Leap is very deep purple-black in color and gives up intense Black Forest cake, black berry pie and blackcurrant cordial scents with hints of licorice, eucalyptus, espresso, tar and chargrilled beef. Full-bodied, it packs the black fruit preserves flavors and earthy accents into the palate, with a firm frame and great freshness on the finish." (Oct 2018)
