93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck (2015 Vintage):
"The 2015 Alto Moncayo Veraton is the entry level effort yet offers serious bang for the buck. Made from 100% Garnacha from vineyards in Tabuenca and aged in a mix of French and American oak, it gives up terrific notes of blackberries, currants, toasted spices and dried flowers. Possessing beautiful purity of fruit, a full, layered mid-palate, integrated oak, and a great finish, it’s a smoking good Grenache to enjoy over the coming 4-5 years." - 3/1/2018 (Jeb Dunnuck)

"A beautiful wine, with dark fig, warm boysenberry reduction and alluring creamed raspberry flavors streaming forth, accented by graphite, black tea and pastis. There's a healthy dose of singed apple wood through the finish, but it's well-embedded as everything pulls together. Best from 2020 through 2040. 5,500 cases made." -JM (Nov 2017)

"This is one of the finest Evenstad Reserves to date, bringing a stunningly good mix of tree fruits nuanced by barrel flavors of butterscotch and toasted hazelnut. It all leads into a sappy, cinnamon-inflected finish that lingers gracefully and promises to age well through 2025." - PG (Dec 2018)

98 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"The 2016 Dow’s Vintage Port is based around the Vinha dos Ecos vineyard behind Bomfim, populated predominantly by mature Touriga Franca vines that were cropped at just 0.68kg per vine. It has a quite astonishing bouquet with layer upon layer of intense black cherry and cassis fruit, touches of clove, leather and a hint of over-ripe Satsuma. This is a mercurial bouquet that keeps changing in the glass, revealing smoky/burning ember scents with time. The palate is quite magnificent – perfectly balanced with a killer thread of acidity slicing through such pure intense black fruit that there is no heaviness at all. There is a sense of thrust on the finish as it fans out with almost careless abandon, a Vintage Port so self-assured that you can only sit back in amazement. Simply one of the best Dow’s ever made." - Neal Martin (June 2018)

95 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"This is vivid and beautifully rendered, with a dense yet racy core of unadulterated cassis, boysenberry and blackberry puree flavors, flecked with anise, light bramble and polished ganache notes. The long finish shows a great tug of tarry earth while the fruit drives on. Best from 2021 through 2040. 1,700 cases made." - JM (Web Only - 2018)

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
“Always a light, ethereal style of wine, this is also very fresh and still young. It will age with its taut minerality from the Chardonnay in the blend. A softer background will become toasty over the next few years. The vintage date on this bottle is 200 years after the foundation of this producer. Drink from 2021.” - RV (Dec 2018)
