91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2015 Cote de Tablas Blanc, which includes less Viognier than normal, checks in as an even split of Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Marsanne. It's a perfumed, elegant and textured white that offers lots of citrus and saltiness as well as more background notes of chamomile, flowers and spice. It will shine on the dinner table, and while I'd lean toward drinking bottles over the coming couple of years, it will evolve for longer." - Jeb Dunnuck (Jul 8th, 2016)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Black Slate is a project from US importer Eric Solomon who works with different producers across Priorat to create a range of wines that show the character of the different Priorat villages at affordable prices. Each wine belongs to the winery that produce it and they are all village wines that carry the name of the village. I had the chance to taste from two bottles, one that was just opened and one that had been opened the day before and the differences were awesome. I'm talking about the 2014 Black Slate La Morera, which despite being called black is really white (!) and is produced in conjunction with Jordi Vidal of La Conrería de Scala Dei. The bottle that was opened and poured had a nice floral aroma and some waxy notes that were fresh and primary. But the one that had been opened for a day was darker in color and the nose was much more interesting with waxy aromas of dry apricots, and started to show some wild herbs, fennel and tarragon and the texture had also changed to be more focused while gaining in volume. I thoroughly advise that if you like funkier whites with more character you should decant a bottle one day in advance! This is mostly Garnacha Blanca with some 7% Pedro Ximenez at higher altitude as the village of La Morera is around 700 meters high and the soils are not only slate, but they also have some chalk (the influence form Montsant) that provide for a different kind of minerality, more sapid/salty. Great white from Priorat at amazing price. 8,000 bottles." -- Luis Gutierrez (Jun 2015)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2015 Vintage):
"The custom cuvée for American importer Eric Solomon, the 2015 Black Slate La Morera is a blend of Garnacha Blanca with 5% Pedro Ximenez from the village of La Morera de Monstsant. The irony here is that the young vines used for this wine are planted on limestone soils rather than in the usual slate from Priorat. It was fermented in stainless steel and kept in contact with the lees for four months. All of the wines from the Black Slate project are now Vi de Villa, the official village category from the Priorat appellation. There is a mixture of white fruit, flowers and Mediterranean herbs that is quite captivating. The Garnacha Blanca dominates, but the Pedro Ximenez might provide a more austere, mineral hint, and perhaps a faint touch of petrol. The palate combines volume and fine minerality. 4,000 bottles were produced and filled in February 2016." - Luis Gutiérrez (28th Oct 2016)

"The 2013 Famille Perrin Côtes du Rhône Blanc (Clairette, Bourboulenc, Viognier and Grenache Blanc) is a beautiful white that offers plenty of citrus, apricot and honey blossom in its medium-bodied, nicely textured profile. It has both richness and freshness and will drink nicely over the coming couple of years." - Jeb Dunnuck (Oct 2014)

"Guigal is one of those firms that seems to handle whites, reds and rosés with equal aplomb. This white has a fair dose of Viognier, which gives it a floral, apricotty nose, a rich, creamy palate and a spicy, gingery finish. Drink now." - Joe Czerwinski (9/1/2016)

87 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Delicious floral, pear and medium to full-bodied, the 2013 Grenache Blanc has seen no new oak and is all the better for it. One expects to see some Grenache Blanc from California’s Central Coast, but didn’t realize there was much in Napa. This certainly is a delicious, potent wine at 14.1% natural alcohol at a good price. I imagine it’s very flexible with an assortment of cuisines." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2014)

"A blend of mostly Grenache Blanc, with 20% Roussanne, the 2015 Cotes du Roussillon Vieilles Vignes has exotic, vibrant notes of lime, apple peel and mint to go with a racy, saliva-inducing style on the palate. Drink this clean, crisp white on release and over the following year or so." - Jeb Dunnuck (27th Apr 2016)

"A smoking white that’s a blend of 75% Grenache Blanc and 25% Roussanne, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc offers up thrilling notes of apple tart, buttered peaches, brioche and lemon curd to go with a medium to full-bodied, supple and textured profile on the palate. While a ripe, layered effort, its richness is beautifully balanced by integrated acidity and it stays focused and clean on the finish. Superb on its own, it has the balance and class to be versatile on the dinner table. Enjoy it over the coming 2-3 years. Drink now-2017." - Jeb Dunnuck (Oct 2013)

"Starting with the 2012s and the Famille Perrin releases, the value priced 2012 Famille Perrin Cotes Du Rhone Blanc Reserve is a blend of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier. Fresh and pure, with salty minerality giving lift to notions of white peach, tropical fruit, licorice and floral notes, this medium-bodied, supple and rounded effort has fantastic purity and a rich, yet fresh feel. Drink it over the coming year or two. Drink now." – Jeb Dunnuck (Oct 201#)
