92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Macán Clásico, pure Tempranillo from their 92 hectares of vineyards in Ábalos, Labastida, El Villar and San Vicente de la Sonsierra, fermented after a cold soak, followed by malolactic partly in barriques and an élevage of 12 to 14 months in new and second use French oak barrels. It's still quite young and undeveloped, with good consistency, juicy, integrated and balanced. The Macán wines seem to be coming of age. It was bottled in May 2016. 68,468 bottles, 1,042 magnums and some larger formats were produced." - Luis Gutiérrez (28th Feb 2018)

94 Points - James Suckling:
"Very dense and tannic, but there's also plenty of fruit with mulberries on the nose. Is this pushing the envelope one step too far? Although the wine has powerful tannins, somehow it balances out and tastes fresh – an amazing feat. Better from 2018.” (January 18, 2018)

91+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"I loved the textbook 2012 Señorío de P. Peciña Crianza, which has the usual house blend of Tempranillo with 3% Garnacha and 2% Graciano; it was fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and matured in used American oak barrels for some 24 months with hand racking every six months. It has a great balance between age and youth, modernity and tradition, fruit and spice, balsam and freshness. The palate feels polished, with resolved tannins and very god balance. A great improvement over previous vintages. 100,000 bottles produced." - Luis Gutiérrez (30th Aug 2016)

90 Points - Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media:
"Dark red. Aromas of redcurrant, dried cherry, vanilla and pipe tobacco, with a peppery element adding lift. Sweet and supple on the palate, offering smoky red fruit and rose pastille flavors plus a touch of coconut on the back half. Finishes smooth and long, with very soft tannins and an echo of sweet oak spices." - Josh Raynolds (Dec 1st, 2015)

WINE REVIEW:
"2012 La Calandra Volandera is pure, jammy expression of Grenache that is hard to resist. Overflowing with kirsch, raspberry jam, flowers, and assorted spices, it is beautifully fresh and lively on the palate, with medium to full body, no hard edges, and an upfront, sexy feel." - Rhône Report

93 points - Stephen Tanzer:
"Vivid ruby. A complex, expansive bouquet evokes ripe cherry and blackberry complicated by suggestions of pipe tobacco, vanilla, leather and potpourri. Sappy, penetrating and smoky on the palate, offering sweet cherry-cola and dark berry compote flavors that become zestier and spicier with air. Dusty tannins build on the strikingly long, expansive finish, which shows excellent clarity, repeating spiciness and lingering dark fruit character. For a world-class, ageworthy red wine this is a remarkable value." - Josh Raynolds (Sept. 2014)

93 points - Wine Enthusiast:
"Smoky, tight, gritty aromas of licorice, tobacco, cassis and berry are lively and ripped. This is layered and acidic, but also classy. Flavors of herbal red-berry fruits, coffee, herbs and licorice finish long and seamless. Drink this classic Rioja from 2015 through 2022." — M.S. (12/1/2014)

92 points - Robert Parker:
"The 2009 Imperial Reserva from a warm, ripe and powerful vintage, is still a project of a Reserva with its backward personality and its shy nose, displaying the toasty aromas of the barrique. It needs time to polish those tannins. Those who prefer more powerful wines would prefer this to the 2008. Drink 2015-2020." - Luis Gutierrez (Dec. 2013)

97 Points & Top 50 Wines of 2013 - Decanter:
"Restrained, mineral style with elegant tannins. Youthful and fresh, feminine and complex. Deliciously decadent, with extraordinary vitality in the palate and a long unique, finish. A jewel at this price. I gave this wine full marks -- it was perfect. I cannot think of any other wine, in this price range, that provides so much complexity, elegance, style, classicism and length."

96 Points - The Somm Journal:
“This wine was a revelation to us. Brickish color; great aromatics; deep lush and fresh with depth, balance; notes of leather, tar, licorice, minerals and juicy acidity; beef and iron ore; complex and long."

94 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"With its dried-cherry and rose-petal aromas and flavors, this beautiful, mature red is every bit the equivalent of a fine, older Bordeaux or Burgundy. Cumin and cinnamon show on the palate and the refined finish is lovely, with anise and white pepper accents." - W.E. (5/1/2001)
