91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Black Slate is a project from US importer Eric Solomon who works with different producers across Priorat to create a range of wines that show the character of the different Priorat villages at affordable prices. Each wine belongs to the winery that produce it and they are all village wines that carry the name of the village. I had the chance to taste from two bottles, one that was just opened and one that had been opened the day before and the differences were awesome. I'm talking about the 2014 Black Slate La Morera, which despite being called black is really white (!) and is produced in conjunction with Jordi Vidal of La Conrería de Scala Dei. The bottle that was opened and poured had a nice floral aroma and some waxy notes that were fresh and primary. But the one that had been opened for a day was darker in color and the nose was much more interesting with waxy aromas of dry apricots, and started to show some wild herbs, fennel and tarragon and the texture had also changed to be more focused while gaining in volume. I thoroughly advise that if you like funkier whites with more character you should decant a bottle one day in advance! This is mostly Garnacha Blanca with some 7% Pedro Ximenez at higher altitude as the village of La Morera is around 700 meters high and the soils are not only slate, but they also have some chalk (the influence form Montsant) that provide for a different kind of minerality, more sapid/salty. Great white from Priorat at amazing price. 8,000 bottles." -- Luis Gutierrez (Jun 2015)

91 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2015 Vintage):
"The custom cuvée for American importer Eric Solomon, the 2015 Black Slate La Morera is a blend of Garnacha Blanca with 5% Pedro Ximenez from the village of La Morera de Monstsant. The irony here is that the young vines used for this wine are planted on limestone soils rather than in the usual slate from Priorat. It was fermented in stainless steel and kept in contact with the lees for four months. All of the wines from the Black Slate project are now Vi de Villa, the official village category from the Priorat appellation. There is a mixture of white fruit, flowers and Mediterranean herbs that is quite captivating. The Garnacha Blanca dominates, but the Pedro Ximenez might provide a more austere, mineral hint, and perhaps a faint touch of petrol. The palate combines volume and fine minerality. 4,000 bottles were produced and filled in February 2016." - Luis Gutiérrez (28th Oct 2016)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
The four barrels of 2010 Nit de Nin come from 80- to 100-year-old Garnacha and Carinena vines from Mas d’En Cacador in Porrera. It has a lively, exotic bouquet of orange sorbet, kirsch and a touch of liquorice that is immediately captivating. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, layers of ripe, lascivious red fruit leading to a sumptuous, mineral-rich finish with a subtle hint of oxtail on the aftertaste. While not a cheap Priorat red, it is certainly an intellectual wine that should offer a fascinating evolution. Drink 2014-2025+. (April 2012)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
Familia Nin-Ortiz’s 2009 Planetes de Nin is sourced from a contiguous 11 acre parcel all planted on llicorella and farmed biodynamically. The wine is made up of 70% Garnacha and 30% Carignan aged in foudre. It is purple in color with an intriguing nose of dates and figs (reminiscent of a Fig Newton) as well as mineral, lavender, and black cherry. On the palate it reveals an elegant, racy personality with enough structure to evolve for 1-2 years. It is approachable now and will continue to provide pleasure through 2021. (May 2011)

92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2012 Taleia is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc with a little Semillon which has bare hints of grass and tomato vine, with great freshness, akin to a Sancerre rather than a Marlborough, with subtle aromas and great underlying acidity and minerality. A superb, mineral, mountain white that should age with grace. Drink now-2018." - Luis Gutierrez (Feb 2014)

92 Points - Steven Tanzer's International Wine Cellar:
"(90% riesling and 10% albarino, partially fermented in ancient stone pits, called lagars, and the rest in stainless steel, then moved into large steel vats for another three months): Light yellow. High-pitched aromas of lemon pith, quince and jasmine, plus a touch of chalky minerality. Dry and nervy on the palate, with very good clarity to its lively citrus and orchard fruit flavors. The dry, tightly wound finish echoes the citrus and mineral notes and lingers with impressive tenacity." -Josh Reynolds (Sep/Oct 2013)

"(85% garnacha and 15% syrah, raised in French and American barrels that range from new to five years old): Vivid ruby. Explosively perfumed nose displays raspberry, fresh rose and sexy oak spices. Lush but energetic, with vivid red berry flavors and a silky, seamless texture. Turns more tangy on the finish, which clings with very good tenacity." - Josh Raynolds (Nov/Dec '10)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2005):
"The 2005 III Lustros Gran Reserva Brut Nature (disgorged January 2012) is a blend of 70% Xarello and 30% Macabeu from the 5-hectare -La Plana- vineyard that lies 200 meters above sea-level. It spends seven years on the lees and is dosaged with 100-year-old Solera wine. It possesses brilliant clarity on the nose with touches of oyster shell, citrus lemon, wet limestone and yellow flowers. The palate is supremely well-balanced with electrifying acidity on the entry, displaying subtle notes of apricot, lemon curd and quince that lead to a perfectly balanced finish. This is a wonderful Cava that deserves 2-3 hours aeration. Drink now-2018+." -Neal Martin (Apr 2012)

95 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2014 vintage):
"I was really blown away by the aromatics of the 2014 Laurel. As soon as I put my nose in the glass I was transported to the vineyards of Gratallops, with a blast of wild herbs and flowers followed by a stream of smoked meat, juicy red currants and raspberries. It is mostly Garnacha but with some 10% each Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are cooled down during the night and in the morning some are destemmed, and some others are left with the stems on and fermented mostly with indigenous yeasts. The élevage here is one year in a combination of used oak barrels, oak vats, cement and amphorae. They have increased the volume of wine being raised in amphorae in this 2014. This might very well be the finest Laurel to date. Simply stunning!" - Luis Gutiérrez (Oct 2016)
