92 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"This is quite ripe though it stops short of being surmature with its nose of plum liqueur, mocha, black cherry and earth aromas. There is exceptionally good richness to the very suave and succulent medium weight flavors that are supported by phenolically mature tannins on the mouth coating finish. This is a big and overtly powerful wine yet it's not especially rustic or austere." (Apr 15, 2015)

91 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"Here the nose offers a notable step up in aromatic refinement with its cool and airy yet notably serious mix of various red berries, earth, tea and floral nuances. There is fine volume and excellent richness to the mouth coating and relatively powerful medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a dusty, persistent and mildly austere finale that is more structured still. The tannins are dense but fine and this should amply reward 10 to 15 years of cellaring." - (Apr 15, 2016)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer:
“Pale yellow. Aromas of lemon drop, pear and minerals show a strong overlay of oak char. Broad, tactile and nicely filled in, offering good intensity to its lemon, spicy oak and crushed stone flavors. At once juicy and rich, this wine finishes with very good spicy persistence and subtle stony minerality. Deeper and more vibrant than the Baudines, with more material to buffer its alcohol. And firmer on the back end.” (Sep 2017)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2016 Bouzeron Village from Domaine Gagey has a light apple blossom and green apple-scented bouquet. The palate is fresh on the entry with a pleasant fatness in the mouth but the acidity keeps everything in check and there is a subtle spiciness on the finish. Fine." - Neal Martin (29th Dec 2017)

92-94 Points - Allen Meadows' Burghound:
"Here too the wood treatment is anything but subtle though it stops just short of completely overshadowing the exuberantly spicy plum liqueur and earth-scented nose. There is good drive and even better detail if not the impressive concentration to the medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the ever-so-slightly warm and very firm finish. Again, my predicted range assumes that the wood treatment will be successfully absorbed over time and note as well that plenty of patience will be necessary." - (Apr 2018)

Allen Meadows' Burghound (2014 Vintage):
"A more complex and slightly more elegant nose offers up ripe but cool aromas of red currant and more evident earth nuances. There is good verve to the nicely detailed and appealingly textured middle weight flavors that offer better depth and persistence. This pretty effort would make a fine choice for an all-around house red." - Allen Meadows (Apr 15, 2016)

92-94 Points - Stephen Tanzer:
"(always from the same parcel in the heart of Aloxe-Corton): Bright, light yellow. Aromas of ripe yellow fruits and spices, with a touch of reduction that Germain says is from the wood. Riper and thicker than the basic Corton-Charlemagne but also very dry, even austere, and much more dominated by minerality. A strong flavor of liquid stone is complicated by lemon drop and saline nuances. Finishes chewy and long, with a tactile dusty minerality. This youthfully unforthcoming wine will need at least several years of bottle aging upon release." - Stephen Tanzer (Sep 2016)
