96 Points & #16 of Top 100 of 2016 - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Unctuous and ripe, showing mouthfilling flavors of almond cream, ginger, heather honey and apricot, this will need time to unwind fully, but when it does, expect more pineapple, maple and singed orange notes, as this has some depth and power in reserve, as well as more than enough cut for balance. A beauty in the making. Best from 2018 through 2038. 2,833 cases made." - JM (Mar 31, 2016)

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 1990 Chateau Gilette Creme de Tete is the latest release from the Medeville family. It has a curious bouquet that is minty and full of dried white flowers, but it feels contained at the moment, the aromas demanding more time in bottle to coalesce. The palate is fresh on the entry with subtle hints of nougat, quince, walnut, almond and white fennel toward the finish. Having subsequently tasted much older vintages, I can see how this is still a nascent Gilette that will benefit from another ten years in bottle, although the 1989 seems to have a little more finesse. Drink 2022-2040. Tasted March 2014." - Neal Martin (Jun 2014)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"Tasted blind at the Sauternes 2011 horizontal tasting. The Domaine de l’Alliance 2011 is missing some presence on the nose compared to its peers: light undergrowth scents permeating the honeyed fruit, yet it never quite gets out of second gear. The palate is medium-bodied with orange peel and mandarin on the entry. There is a good level of botrytis here although it tapers slightly during the second half and does not quite deliver the density of others. Yes, it is a conservative Domaine de l’Alliance and yet it is redeemed by its purity and restrained elegance." - Neal Martin (Feb 2015)

Tasting Notes:
Sinewy and graceful, minerally with plenty of ravishing botrytis. It is a habit-forming aperitif that marries better with cheeses than most reds. The French are known to admire it with Sunday’s roast chicken.

"Intense aromas of pecan pie, dried apricot, apples and syrup. Full-bodied, medium-sweet, with a dense mouthfeel of very ripe fruit and a long, powerful and spicy aftertaste. Very, very impressive. Not quite the 2001, but who's arguing? Best after 2010. 6,500 cases made." -JS (Mar 31, 2006)

97 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine:
"Powered by dry botrytis, this is a wine with immense potential. It has weight, complexity and richness, all under the cloak of botrytis. To leaven the power, there is acidity, but this is certainly for aging." - R.V. (6/1/2010)
