98 Points Best in Show & Platinum Award - Decanter Magazine:
"Looks like becoming another legendary Piper in the same style and league as 1988, ’76 and ’55. Already focused and concentrated. Tough acids might scare some but sublime coffee and biscuity complexity is building up slowly. Sensual wine for all occasions."

Givry, in the midst of the Cote Chalonnaise, tends to be overlooked even amid neighboring communes like Mercurey. But Pascal Danjean's stand for quality here is evident in the 2010s, and worth watching. Subtle, pure and less dramatic than its counterpart La Plante ($32, 13%), with white flowers, cassia, bright Bing cherry and a remarkable finesse to the tannins.

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"With the highly respected Right Bank consultant Stephane Derenoncourt providing advice, Prieure-Lichine has moved to a complete, savory, and for lack of a better description, broad, lush, sexy style. This has always been a wine that was drinkable at an early age, but I think they are building more texture and flesh into the wine, as well as more concentration, without losing the estate’s early appeal. The 2006 is an outstanding wine, with complex notes of spring flowers, forest floor, sweet black currants, and earth. Medium to full-bodied, flavorful, without a trace of astringency or hardness, this is a succulent, fleshy wine to drink over the next 15 or more years." - Robert Parker (2/2009)

97 Points - James Suckling:
"I always loved this wine from the first time I tasted it in 1998. It has such purity and power yet it's reserved and beautiful. It's one of the best Calons ever. I drank a bottle with some friends in Manhattan last week and it was the wine of the evening. It was full-bodied with silky tannins and a focused and intense finish. Lots of currant and berry character and hints of dried spices. It's finally opening up and giving real pleasure now like so many 1995 Bordeaux at the moment." - (June 12, 2016)

94 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"Delicate flavors of white raspberry, toast, candied ginger and smoky minerality are seamlessly knit in this vibrant rosé Champagne, slowly expanding on the palate into the lasting finish of fruit, saline and sliced almond. Disgorged September 2014. Drink now through 2030." – AN (Dec 15, 2015)

95 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine:
"An elegant blanc de blancs, with a finely detailed, creamy mousse. There's a purity to the fruit flavors of poached white peach and orange granita that finds fine integration with accents of toasted brioche, grilled hazelnut and ground cardamom. Aging beautifully, this is rich in flavor yet still vibrant and well-focused through the lacy finish. Drink now through 2025. 200 cases imported." – AN (Nov 30, 2014)

"Bright and lively up front, with tangy damson plum, cassis and linzer torte flavors that drive along, while darker mulled spice, tar and Black Forest cake notes fill in behind. Tangy tobacco and iron accents hang nicely on the finish. Drink now through 2018. 9,165 cases made." - JM (Web Only 2012)

"A jaw-dropper, with quince, persimmon, mango, fig and blood orange marmalade notes providing a kaleidoscopic experience as this moves along, slowly pulling in more ginger, marzipan, green fig and date notes. The finish is so seamless it feels like glistening porcelain. Drink now through 2040. From France." — J.M. (Dec. 21, 2016)

92+ Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 1990 Chateau Gilette Creme de Tete is the latest release from the Medeville family. It has a curious bouquet that is minty and full of dried white flowers, but it feels contained at the moment, the aromas demanding more time in bottle to coalesce. The palate is fresh on the entry with subtle hints of nougat, quince, walnut, almond and white fennel toward the finish. Having subsequently tasted much older vintages, I can see how this is still a nascent Gilette that will benefit from another ten years in bottle, although the 1989 seems to have a little more finesse. Drink 2022-2040. Tasted March 2014." - Neal Martin (Jun 2014)
