Press / Wine Critic's Reviews
Notes from the Winemaker:

The 2014 growing season was another great one in Napa Valley. Our Cabernets are a blend of wines from eight of the sixteen sub-appellations – a bottling that represents complexity through judicious blending. Deep red and opulent in color with the vibrant scent of dark cherry and blackberry, subtly layered with warm notes of vanilla. The palate is explosive, bright and balanced with cassis at the center, with flourishes of cocoa and sweet tobacco.

Ratings & Reviews:
94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley has a dense opaque purple color, a kiss of blackberry and cassis fruit, a full-bodied mouthfeel with ripe tannin and a long finish. It is very Caymus in its immediate accessibility, but has plenty of staying power and depth. This is lush, full, intense and pure. Drink it over the next 15 or so years." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Dec 2016)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2013 Vintage):
"A beautiful ripe, plump, fat and opulent style of Cabernet Sauvignon that Caymus has pioneered, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon has a dense purple color, loads of juicy blackberry and blackcurrant fruit, low acidity and no real evidence of oak, but a nice, plush, full-bodied opulence. This is irresistible, especially for a Cabernet Sauvignon coming in at 14.9% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next decade or more." - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Dec 2015)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine (2013 Vintage):
"Rich, smooth and creamy, with vanilla, mocha, dark berry and licorice notes, offering a compelling mix of sweetish flavors set in a graceful, supple texture. Drink now through 2025. 119,950 cases made." – JL (Web Only - 2016)

96 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2012 Vintage):
"They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing!" - Robert M. Parker, Jr. (Oct 2014)

91 Points - Wine Spectator (2012 Vintage):
"Lavishly oaked, with creamy mocha, vanilla, cedar and anise notes at the edge of a rich core of dark berry, plum and black licorice flavors. Tight, focused and persistent, showing a seductive character. Drink now through 2026. 122,158 cases made." – JL (Nov 15, 2014)

92 Points - Wine Spectator's Magazine (2011 vintage):
"A fleshy, showy youngster, putting ripe fruit and jazzy oak on display. An impressive 2011 that reverberates with ripe cherry, plum and currant notes that will be at their most appealing early on, as this veers toward dryer tannins on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 72,095 cases made." –JL (Apr 30, 2014)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2011 vintage):
"Although tasty, the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is slightly less intense and powerful compared to the 2010. It reveals supple tannins, abundant black fruit and spice notes, and an easy-drinking yet seriously endowed, medium to full-bodied personality. Drink it over the next decade." - Robert Parker (Ot 2013)

94 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2010 vintage):
"The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa is a beauty. Dense ruby/purple-colored, it is filled with creme de cassis fruit, supple tannins and an opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel. The family believes in delivering exceptional pleasure and intensity to their wines, but they also have remarkable aging potential as the 1975 and 1976 Special Selections in my cellar bear witness." - Robert Parker (Oct 2013)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine (2010 vintage):
"Young and appropriately vibrant and grapey. Homes in on pure currant and blackberry fruit, veering briefly toward cedar and tobacco before tightening on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2024." —J.L. (Dec 31, 2012)

91 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine (2009 vintage):
"Supple and creamy-textured, with mocha, ripe plum and cherry flavors that show touches of tobacco, espresso and underbrush. Full-bodied, gaining tannic traction on the finish, elegant and readily approachable. Drink now through 2018".—J.L. (Sept 20, 2011)

93 Points & "Hot Wines" - Wine Spectator Magazine
(2008 vintage):
"Open fruit, rich, lush and layered, serving up a complex mix of plum, blackberry, black licorice and spices. Full-bodied and supple-textured, ending with a long, persistent finish that keeps repeating the core flavor themes. Drink now through 2018. From California." -J.L. (9/29/2010)

92 Points - Wine Spectator Magazine (2007 vintage):

"Ripe and fleshy, with rich plum, wild berry, spice and savory herb notes that are complex, full-bodied and expansive on the palate, ending with firm tannins and a dash of espresso. Drink now through 2016. 37,800 cases made." -JL (11/2009)
