Notes from the Winemaker:

Hand harvested in small boxes of 10 kg from our estate grapes. Some of the wine was fermented in new French oak barrels, with a period of aging on its lees. The rest of the wine has been produced in small 25 and 6 Hl stainless steel vats. After bottling the wine ages during for 9 months.

Varieties: Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon

Tasting notes:
Eye: very pale yellow
Nose: complex, notes of boxwood, apricot and light vanilla notes, with spicy background
Palate: Light undergrowth, fat and very long end with a sharp and elegant acidity
Aftertaste: Long and varietal
Comments: This wine will develop a significant complexity in bottle. Thanks to its acidity it will have a very good aging, as long as it’s kept in proper temperatures

Ratings and Reviews
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:
"The 2012 Taleia is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc with a little Semillon which has bare hints of grass and tomato vine, with great freshness, akin to a Sancerre rather than a Marlborough, with subtle aromas and great underlying acidity and minerality. A superb, mineral, mountain white that should age with grace. Drink now-2018." - Luis Gutierrez (Feb 2014)

90 Points - Stephen Tanzer:

"(80% sauvignon blanc and 20% semillon; fermented in stainless steel tanks and partially raised in ancient stone pits and new French oak): Bright straw. Fresh citrus, floral and mineral aromas are complemented by pungent herbs and a hint of quinine. Firm and dry on the palate, offering juicy citrus pith and pear flavors firmed by a bracing spine of acidity. Finishes youthfully taut, with a vibrant citrus quality and very good persistence." - Josh Raynolds (September 2013)
