About this Wine:

Carpe Diem Pinot Noir is made in Northern California's Anderson Valley. Over the years, this region has gained the reputation of an ideal terroir to grow Pinot Noir for still wines. Grapes for the Carpe Diem Pinot Noir are selected exclusively from the best vineyards in Northern California's cool Anderson Valley. This fog-shrouded region not far from Mendocino Coast and the Pacific Ocean provides ideal growing conditions for these delicate grapes. Vinified under the meticulous supervision of Roederer Estate's Winemaker Arnaud Weyrich, Carpe Diem's philosophy is to offer the most discriminating wine enthusiast the best of two worlds: the richness of California fruit combined with the elegance and the complexity of a wine made in the Burgundian tradition.

Burgundian winemaking style in Northern California. Clonal Selection: 1 15, 77 7, 4, 667 and Pommard. Yeast Strain: RC 212. Cooperage: Damy, Cadus, Remond, Rousseau, Seguin Moreau. Barrel Regime: 31% new, 69% one year and older French oak. ML: 100%

Tasting Notes:
The Carpe Diem has ripe aromas and is very jammy, but with limited oak expressions. Acidity levels show off the Anderson Valley climate.

Try with roasted pheasant with bright, tangerine roasted root vegetables, or any dish highlighting grilled chicken and herbs.
