Notes from the Winemaker:

The most part of the grapes we use are Sangiovese 90%, Mammolo Canaiolo e Colorino. The harvest and the first selection are made by hand directly on the vines, the grapes are trasported in small crates to the cellar where are selected a second time.

Ratings & Reviews

91 Points - James Suckling (2010 vintage):
"A savory red with plum and lightly meaty character and hints of chocolate. Full body, plenty of fruit and a juicy finish. Better in 2015." -James Suckling (December 20th, 2013)

90 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate (2009 vintage):
"The 2009 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is gorgeous in this vintage. Firm yet well-integrated tannins support an expressive core of sweet red fruit in this beautifully delineated, energetic Vino Nobile. The 2009 impresses for its energy and class. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2021." -Antonio Galloni (Jun 2012)

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (2009 vintage):
"Full medium ruby. Red cherry, licorice, menthol and spicy oak on the nose, along with a rooty nuance. Enters supple, suave and fine-grained, but its sweet flavors of red cherry and licorice show a mounting austerity. Not especially complex--and its tannins shut down the finish. I'd wait a year or two before pulling the cork." -Ian D'Agata (Jul 12)

Wine Spectator Magazine (2009 vintage):
"This rich, fruity red boasts plum, black cherry and black tea flavors. Backed by moderate tannins, ending with tobacco and dried cherry notes. Drink now through 2016. 3,500 cases made." -BS (Web Only - 2012)
